Students honored at Student of the Month Breakfast

February Students of the Month

On March 14th, Farragut held its first Student of the Month breakfast of the new year to honor the February students of the month. Students receiving this honor are:

Brenda Torres - JROTC
Ariana Torres - JROTC
Javier Ceballos - Mathematics
Luis Orozco - Art
Andrew Riley - English
Alejandra Rosales - Reading
Moises Soberano - Advanced Algebra

Attending this breakfast on behalf of the administration and faculty were Mr. Siegellak, Ms. Gallegos, Mrs. MacBeth, and Ms. Grant. Ms. Plascencia presented each student of the month with a certificate and T-shirt and expressed how proud she was of these students and their hard work. Students were asked how they felt about receiving this honor and Luis Orozco replied, "I feel proud of myself for accomplishing something." Ariana Torres summed up other feelings when she said she was, "happy, but unexpected" to receive the award.

Students of the Month are chosen from nominations submitted each month by their teachers for each academic department. Nominations are reviewed by Department Chairs and Assistant Principals and winners chosen by the Principal. Teachers who wish to nominate a student for this award should submit the written recommendation to his or her department chairperson.
