Welcome to the new Farragut Learning Center. Formerly known as our library, the Learning Center underwent a major overhaul and renovation during the 2007-2008 academic year.

In order to ensure the smooth functioning of the Learning Center and to avoid conflict, please observe these rules and guidelines for the use of the Learning Center.

Learning Center Rules

  • Teachers must reserve the computer lab in order to bring their classes. When bringing classes, teachers must arrive with their classes as a group and stay with them. Reservations may be made with Mr. Newman, Learning Center Director.
  • Students may use the Learning Center during their lunch periods. To enter the Learning Center, students must present a valid, current student ID along with a Learning Center pass obtained from and signed by one of their teachers.
  • Once inside the Learning Center, students must remain for the entire period.
  • Students and teachers are not permitted to change any settings on the computers or the television.
  • Students are not permitted to do any of the following on a Learning Center computer;
    • Play games of any kind
    • Watch videos
    • Visit social networking sites (Facebook, MySpace, etc.)
    • Listen to music through computer speakers
  • Students must obtain permission from a teacher or librarian before printing any pages
  • Students are not permitted to use computers or watch television during any passing period
  • When there is a conflict, classes with teachers will receive priority use of the computers
  • Computer Lab section A will be designated for classes with teachers and section B will be for students on lunch and teachers during their prep period. Students will receive priority on computers.
  • Students may not be in the Learning Center after school unless there is a supervising teacher present.
  • Students and teachers may only use designated entrances and exits for the Learning Center. Food and drinks are not permitted in the Learning Center. This applies to both teachers and students.
The Learning Center is for all members of the Farragut community and has been renovated and redesigned to accomodate and facilitate learning. These rules are in place to ensure the environment of the Learning Center remains conducive to that goal and we ask that all students, teachers, and staff respect the Learning Center, its cleanliness, and its purpose.
